Director’s Biography : The career of Guillaume Nicloux (Melun, France. 1966) has space for experimental films, madcap comedy, political commentary and drama films. With The Nun (2013) he competed at Berlin, and participating in its Panorama section with The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq (2014). These were followed by Valley of Love (2015), which competed at Cannes. Guillaume Nicloux has built dense and unique works by exploring all the genres. To The Ends of The World (2018) is his sixteenth feature film.
Synopsis: Indochina, 1945. Young French soldier Robert Tassen sets out on a frantic mission whose goal is to find and punish Vietnamese General Vo Binh, instigator of the massacre that saw Robert’s brother brutally slain. An encounter with the graceful Maï, however, complicates the young man’s indefatigable determination.
